Finn Zachau

Hi all,

My name is Hugo F Ojeda Christiansen. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico in the United States. But I was born in Chile, South America.

I am extremely saddened with the passing of Finn Zachhau. I was familiar with his life because he was communicating with my mother and her sister (my aunt), Elsa and Silvia Christiansen Christoffersen. They were daughters of Oluf Zachhau-Christiansen Lund and Karen Marie Christoffersen Nielsen.

The letters they wrote to each other were very revealing of the families and the travels they went on. He was an adventurous man traveling all over Europe and Asia.

He was in the Army for 2 years, working in a shipyard and learning shipbuilding at Elienore Technical College. However, he loved Asia where he traveled all over that continent, and Europe as well (in such amazing places as Athens, Rome, and Paris, among other places). He also visited Afghanistan, and then Pakistan, India where he was arrested several times due to being falsely accused of espionage because of a war in the area at that period of time. He also worked in Iran supporting the Peace Corp.

His legacy will be forever remembered.
